Kristi Kirk Hood is a freelance musician from Columbia, SC who performs regularly with the Dick Goodwin Big Band, her own jazz trio, and with various artists across the United States. She recorded her first song demo for a Nashville producer at the age of ten and continued to develop her musical acumen through piano and voice training at Columbia College and with nationally known coaches. While her professional career began as a Nashville studio musician and songwriter, she currently specializes in the jazz standards genre. Dr. Dick Goodwin has said, “her singing is technically superior and emotionally engaging”, while others have described her voice as “powerful”, “warm and sultry” and “beautiful”.
